England Women's team opener Danni Wyatt-Hodge is the first-ever batter to edge past the 300-run mark in the ongoing 2026 Women's T20 World Cup. She is now the only cricketer in Women's international cricket to achieve the record in a single tournament.

Danni Wyatt-Hodge captured the feat during the final of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup against Australia Women at the iconic Lord's cricket ground. Though she deprtaed early in the match, scoring only 8 runs from 9 balls.

Australian bowler Annabel Sutherland dismissed the star batter on the fifth ball of the fifth over of the first innings of the match. Beth Mooney took a tricky catch down the leg side. In the first attempt, she fumbled but positioned himself well in the second attempt and dismissed the dangerous batter early in the match.

According to Cricbuzz on their website, "300 runs for Danni Wyatt-Hodge in this tournament - the first batter to do that in a single Women’s T20 World Cup."

Danni Wyatt-Hodge's dismissal was a huge blow for England

Danni Wyatt-Hodge started her 2026 Women's T20 World Cup run with a century against the Sri Lankan Women's cricket team in Birmingham on June 12. She remained unbeaten for 105 in the match to secure a comfortable win for the team.

Danni could have achieved another century in the tournament during England's match against the New Zealand Women's cricket team on June 27. The top-order batter remained not out for 89 runs in this match at The Oval.

The England Women's cricket team was expecting another blistering knock from the 35-year-old against Australia Women's tonight in the final of the 2026 Women's T20 World Cup. But the experienced Australian bowler, Annabel Sutherland, snapped Danni's wicket early. The early dismissal of the opener is a huge moment in the match, and this can be decisive as the Australian batting line-up is filled with multiple match-turning batters.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Freya Kemp stitch a historic partnership

Batting first, after losing the toss, England registers 150 runs in 10 overs, in exchange for 4 wickets only. The freshness of the Lord's surface helped the Aussie bowlers throughout the innings.

England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt and the middle-order batter Freya Kemp remained unbeaten for 58 and 44-run knocks, respectively. To win the final, Australia needs to score 151 runs in 20 overs.

The partnership between Nat and Freya entered the record book as they secured 80 runs for the 5th wicket, which is one of the best partnerships in a Women's T20 World Cup final.
