Pocket-size dynamite David Warner might have hinted towards coming out of international retirement with a cryptic post on Instagram.
David Warner, who was a part of Australia's T20 World Cup squad, retired from the shortest format after his team's exit from Super 8s. Warner had, earlier this year, retired from the longest format of the game after winning a 3-match home Test series against Pakistan.
Months before that in India, David Warner had also announced retirement from the 50-over format, post-conclusion of the 2023 Cricket World Cup. He said goodbye to the second-longest format in the best way possible as he played a crucial role in Australia's 6th World Cup-winning campaign.
During his farewell Test series against Pakistan, David Warner had started the series off with a sensational 164 runs in Perth with the Aussies winning by 360 runs. In the second and third Tests in Melbourne and Sydney, David Warner might not have scored a Ton but he did make contributions for the win.
His final Test match innings saw him score 57 and to add more glory in his farewell series, Australia whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 in the Benaud-Qadir trophy. A few months later David Warner announced that he is ready to say goodbye to International T20 cricket as well after the World Cup in the West Indies and USA.
His teammates would have wanted him to finish his career on a high by winning the World Cup but Australia eventually suffered a Super 8 exit. Now Warner is expected to feature only in franchise T20 leagues around the world but his latest post on Instagram is hunting toward an international comeback.
What was in David Warner's Instagram story
David Warner took to the social media platform Instagram earlier today and posted a picture of his gym at home while working out alone. He did not write too many words in his story and rather kept it short, simple, and highly cryptic. Warner asked his followers who told them that he was retired and not going to play cricket anymore.
Every David Warner and Australian cricket team fan is puzzled by the story that the former left-hand batter uploaded. Even if the reality could be different and Warner could be gearing up to take part in a foreign franchise league, his fans would have been delighted to come across his Instagram story.

It is very much possible that David Warner could feature in the upcoming second season of United States of America's Major League Cricket. A lot of his former Australia teammates like Pat Cummins and Adam Zampa among others are also going to be a part of the MLC 2, which is going to start a week after the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 finale in Barbados later today.
Will David Warner play IPL 2025?
David Warner is expected to feature in various T20 leagues around the world after his international retirement. As far as his future in IPL is concerned, Warner's chances of playing for the Delhi Capitals next season are quite bleak. He did not have a good performance in IPL 2024 and it will interesting to see if the Capitals retain him or not.
