David Warner drops colossal statement on Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli's 'attitude' before BGT 2024-25

Former Australia National Cricket Team star David Warner believes that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be massive factors for India National Cricket Team heading into the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said that if their attitude is on, they will be hard to stop in the five-match Test series.
India National Cricket Team, after a shambolic loss to the New Zealand National Cricket Team in the home Tests, will now be taking on the Australia National Cricket Team. The Rohit Sharma-led side will be traveling down under for the five-match Test series, which will also be part of the ICC World Test Championship.

Going into the series, the careers of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will reportedly be at stake. The two premier batters of the India National Cricket Team have come under serious pump, especially after they failed in the home Test season, where they played Bangladesh and New Zealand.
Rohit and Kohli looked torrid with the bat in the entire home season. Both the premier batters failed in almost all the games and their places came under massive doubt after the India National Cricket Team faced the whitewash against the New Zealand National Cricket Team.
In the six innings against New Zealand, Kohli averaged 15.50 and tallied just 93 runs while Rohit mustered 91 runs at 15.16. Overall in the home season, they amassed 192 and 133 runs, respectively, over the 5 games in the home Test season.

Amid the poor form, David Warner believes that Kohli and Sharma hold the key to India's chances in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25. He said that although Yashasvi Jaiswal will be a player to watch out for two veterans will be key. Speaking to Fox Sports, he explained:
"It's about using the crease; they are coming a bit wider and angling it in; bringing those slip cordons into play. I think time and again we have had some success in India and Australia. But those two hold the key to how India is going to go.
"Young opening batter Jaiswal as well… he's a talent. First time here; he likes to play the drive on the up so that will bring out the slips into play as well, but those two guys…"

David Warner further said that if it is up to their attitudes, both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be hard to stop. He predicted that it would be a big summer for both the players. He explained:
"Yes, age is just a number; they are the backend. It's the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Their attitude, if it's on, they are two guys who are hard to stop. It's going to be a big summer for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma."
India have not lost a Test series to Australia in 10 years and have been in possession of the BGT since 2017. They beat the Pat Cummins-led side on their last two tours in 2018/19 and 2020/21 and would be hoping to day the same this time around too.
