Former Australia opener David Warner has responded back to Marnus Labuschagne's recent comments in which the latter hit out at Warner regarding his mode of dismissals. It was Warner who started this debate as he criticized the way Labuschagne was getting dismissed after scoring a fifty.
Warner was not pleased with the way Labuschagne was throwing his wicket away and getting caught a gully after being set. The former Australian cricketer made these comments after Labuschagne was out for 64 during the second Test between Australia and India in Adelaide.
It was a ball outside off stump and going away from the allrounder Nitish Kumar Reddy and Labuschagne just poked at it. As a result, he was caught off his outside edge by Yashasvi Jaiswal, who took a sharp catch at gully.

Marnus Labuschagne questions David Warner's claims
When Marnus Labuschagne was asked about these comments, he questioned David Warner by taking a small dig at him. Australia's No. 3 batter even asked Warner to do some research before mentioning anything about his dismissals.
"I'd like him to check how many times I’ve been caught at gully. Because apparently I get out there every week. I’ve looked back and I think I can only remember getting caught at gully twice," Labuschagne was quoted as saying by Fox Sports.
"So I might have to have a look at Bull’s (David Warner) comment there. But like I said, everyone’s here to write newspapers, write articles,” he added.
Marnus Labuschagne had scored a crucial 64 in testing conditions in Adelaide and helped to play a solid foundation for Travis Head to explode. Australia took a big first-innings lead that helped them win the match later.
David Warner backs Marnus Labuschagne to score a hundred
Meanwhile, David Warner has now replied to Marnus Labuschagne. In his recent comments, Warner backed the star batter to score big on his home ground. Warner further elaborated on his earlier comment and mentioned where Labuschagne is still lacking.
"We want to see Marnus (Labuschagne) score, we want to see a big hundred. It’s his home venue. He knows this ground better than anyone else. It’s more when he gets to 50, he wants to play that shot (to the gully region)," Warner told The West Australian.
However, Warner still backed Labuschagne to come good in Brisbane and asked him not to worry about the outside noise. He claimed that Labuschagne's knowledge of Gabba would help in the Test match.
"I don’t think it’s a shot for him to want to play when he’s 50. You want to try and get on with it, but I sort of feel when he is dabbing outside off stump that is not when he is at his best. He is still poking."
"For Marnus (Labuschagne), just concentrate on batting. We know he loves eating cricket ball sandwiches. I want to pencil him in for a big hundred. We love him, but don’t worry about the noise, what we’re saying,” he added.
Marnus Labuschagne's numbers in Brisbane
Marnus Labuschagne announced his return to form in Adelaide after having a period of low scores in Tests. He has an excellent record at Gabba, Brisbane having scored 497 runs in 10 innings at an impressive average of 62.13.
Meanwhile, the series is level 1-1 after Australia made a solid comeback in the second Test. The next three Tests will be played in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney respectively.
