“Dar committed a Level 1 offence under Article 2.5 of the IPL’s Code of Conduct. He admitted to the offence and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction. For Level 1 breaches of the Code of Conduct, the Match Referee’s decision is final and binding,” read a statement from IPL.

Left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets for 29 runs for the Delhi team. Following the victory, the DC team moved to sixth place in the table with eight points to their tally. Meanwhile, the Shubmna Gill-led team occupies the seventh spot with a lower net run rate (NRR).

Anrich Nortje Was Having A Tough Time - Rishabh Pant

Rishabh Pant, the Delhi Capitals captain, disclosed the decision to bowl Rasikh for the crucial 19th over instead of Anrich Nortje. He emphasized the significance of relying on a bowler in good form.

"(On choosing Rasikh for 19th over) Nortje was having a tough time. T20 is a funny game, after 14-15 overs the ball was coming on nicely. So we wanted to trust Rasikh, always trust someone who is bowling well in a game. I think it is about instincts as a captain, it will come off sometimes. Happy it worked today," Rishabh Pant said.

Earlier, the Capitals lost three wickets for 44 runs within the powerplay. However, Rishabh Pant and Axar Patel added a 113-run stand for the fourth wicket. Axar scored 66 runs off 43 balls, while Pant scored 88 off 43 balls. The team reached 224 runs for the loss of four wickets in 20 overs.

The Rishabh Pant-led team will take on the Mumbai Indians (MI), led by Hardik Pandya, in their next match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Saturday, April 27.
