DC vs RR: Ravichandran Ashwin reveals why Rohit Sharma labelled Yashasvi Jaiswal as Garden me Ghoomne Vale..

India off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has confirmed that Rohit Sharma targetted Yashasvi Jaiswal when he made furious comments on players roaming in a garden. 

Rohit Sharma was in full animated mode during the 5-match home Test series against England from January to March. In the 2nd Test which India won by 104 runs, Rohit was caught in a stump mic saying that he would do something bad if he found any player standing casually while fielding. Following his comments, India won the particular Test match and also clinched the series by 4-1. 

Ravichandran Ashwin points towards Yashasvi Jaiswal 

Table toppers Rajasthan Royals are currently at the National Capital to prepare for their upcoming IPL 2024 game against Delhi on Tuesday, May 7th. Ahead of the all-important clash, RR players - Yashasvi Jaiswal, Rovman Powell, and Ravichandran Ashwin along with bowling coach Shane Bond sat together to attend an event held in New Delhi.

The event was hosted by none other than former IPL broadcaster Gaurav Kapur, who is known for his witty and engaging questions. In one of the segments, Kapur asked Yashasvi Jaiswal, who are the players that entertain him in the Royals dressing room. 

Yashas Jaiswal replied that all his seniors pulled his leg including Ravichandran Ashwin. The conversation then shifted to an anecdote shared by the opening batter about him knowing when Ashwin is angry and when he's not. 

Jaiswal then shared one incident when he was fielding at short leg during the England Test series and he was not able to stop one ball. Then Ravichandran Ashwin took over and said that if Jaiswal is talking about the series, then he also has some anecdotes to share.

Ashwin started off by saying that Yashasvi Jaiswal stands casually at short leg and one day, he scolded the latter for the same. The off-spinner then revealed that one day when he lashed out at the youngster by saying that if a stone was placed instead of him at short leg, even that stone would stop the ball. 

Ravi Ashwin then confirmed that Yashasvi Jaiswal is the one who actually roams around in the garden.   

"He stands at short leg during Test matches man. One day I scolded him in anger and told him that 'if a stone was placed instead of you, then that stone can even stop 2-3 balls'. Rohit did not write 'guys who roam around in the garden' just like that, these guys are really the ones who roam in the garden." - Ashwin said during the event.

Rajasthan Royals are just one win away from securing play-offs qualification

Meanwhile, if the Rajasthan Royals win their upcoming IPL 2024 tie against the Delhi Capitals, then their qualification for the playoffs will be confirmed. The 2008 IPL winners currently have 16 points to their name, which could have been 18 had they won their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad. 

Delhi Capitals, on the other hand, have a must-win game in hand against RR for their own play-off hopes.
