Former India National Cricket Team cricketer Dinesh Karthik talked about the possibility of Suryakumar Yadav moving to Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). The cricketer-turned-commentator didn't give any hint but said he would be surprised if the development happens.

Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 is around the corner, and the preparations for the tournament seem to have started. The tournament is all set to have a mega auction and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will soon be announcing a retention policy.

With the fever for the Indian Premier League (IPL) on, there have been several reports that have been hogging the headlines. One of the major reports that have taken a toll on everyone is the trade of Mumbai Indians batter Suryakumar Yadav, who was recently appointed as India T20I skipper.

It was reported that Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have made an offer to Suryakumar Yadav. The franchise is keen to acquire the India T20I skipper through trade and is even ready to give him the captaincy of the team for the upcoming editions of the league.

Reports claimed that Kolkata Knight Riders are keen to trade Shreyas Iyer with Suryakumar Yadav. India National Cricket Team T20I skipper has been an integral part of the Mumbai Indians since 2018 and is one of the best batters in the league since then.

During an interaction on Cricbuzz, Dinesh Karthik was asked about the possibility of Suryakumar Yadav going to Kolkata Knight Riders. Replying to this, the keeper-batter stated that he would be very surprised if that move happened in the league. He stated:

"I would be very surprised is all I can tell you."

Dinesh Karthik picks the toughest bowler he has faced

Dinesh Karthik was also asked to pick the toughest bowler he has faced. The keeper-batter straightaway named Lasith Malinga, saying that he could never read him. He also named Steve Harmison, saying that it was difficult for him to read the lanky pacer. He said:

"First, Lasith Malinga. I could never pick him. Straight in front of the umpire's face, he used to say, you should have a hard time. And then Stephen Harmison. Again, a nightmare. Very tall, got steep bounce, and always came to your throat. He was one of the tougher bowlers that I played."

Dinesh Karthik played 26 Tests, 94 ODIs, and 60 T20Is between 2004 and 2022 and was part of some of the major wins for the team. He made his debut at the age of 19 in an ODI against England at Lord’s and since then he has seen Indian cricket growing in leaps and bounds.

The keeper-batter scored 1025 runs in Tests, 1725 in ODIs, and 686 in T20Is. He also won the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 with India. Karthik played 257 games in IPL, scoring 4,842 runs at an average of 26.32.
