Duleep Trophy squads 2024 announced by BCCI; Shreyas Iyer and Suryakumar Yadav among prominent Indian stars

The Ajit Agarkar-led senior selection committee announced the four squads for the first round of the upcoming Duleep Trophy, which is set to commence on September 5.
Skipper Rohit Sharma and senior players Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Ravichandran Ashwin are absent in the star-studded squads.
India's red-ball domestic season will kick off with the 2024 Duleep Trophy. The tournament will take place from September 5 to 22 in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh, and M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru.
Team A, Team B, Team C, and Team D will compete for the title in the 17th edition of the tournament.
Shubman Gill To Lead Team A In Duleep Trophy 2024
Shubman Gill, Abhimanyu Easwaran, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer will lead four teams in the upcoming tournament.
Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, and Hardik Pandya are not included in the first round of the competition. Earlier, reports suggested that Virat and Rohit might play in the event.
Shubman Gill was fast-tracked into the leadership of the Indian national cricket team. Gill led the Indian cricket team in the T20I series against Zimbabwe.
He served as vice-captain in the recent ODI and T20I series against Sri Lanka. The young opening batter replaced Hardik Pandya as white-ball vice-captain.
Prominent players such as KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Arshdeep Singh, Rishabh Pant, Mohammed Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja have been included in the squads for the upcoming tournament. The inclusion of senior players will make the red-ball tournament more competitive.

Team A: Shubman Gill (C), Mayank Agarwal, Riyan Parag, Dhruv Jurel, KL Rahul, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Tanush Kotian, Kuldeep Yadav, Akash Deep, Prasidh Krishna, Khaleel Ahmed, Avesh Khan, Vidwath Kaverappa, Kumar Kushagra, and Shaswat Rawat.
Team B: Abhimanyu Easwaran (C), Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sarfaraz Khan, Rishabh Pant, Musheer Khan, Nitish Kumar Reddy*, Washington Sundar, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohd Siraj, Yash Dayal, Mukesh Kumar, Rahul Chahar, R Sai Kishore, Mohit Awasthi, and N Jagadeesan (WK).
Team C: Ruturaj Gaikwad (C), Sai Sudharsan, Rajat Patidar, Abishek Porel (WK), Suryakumar Yadav, B Indrajith, Hrithik Shokeen, Manav Suthar, Umran Malik, Vyshak Vijaykumar, Anshul Khamboj, Himanshu Chauhan, Mayank Markande, Aryan Juyal (WK), and Sandeep Warrier.
Team D: Shreyas lyer (C), Atharva Taide, Yash Dubey, Devdutt Padikkal, Ishan Kishan (WK), Ricky Bhui, Saransh Jain, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Aditya Thakare, Harshit Rana, Tushar Deshpande, Akash Sengupta, KS Bharat (WK), and Saurabh Kumar.
The Athletes Will Be Replaced in the Duleep Trophy - BCCI
The Board of Control for Cricket in India announced that players selected for the two-match Test series against Bangladesh will be replaced after the first round of the Duleep Trophy. The statement did not mention Mohammed Shami's availability as he recovers from an ankle injury.
“The athletes who will be selected to represent India for the home Test series against Bangladesh will be replaced in the Duleep Trophy,” BCCI said in a statement.
