The first Test between South Africa and England begins at Lord’s from August 17. This is the last leg of the tour with the ODIs finishing 1-1 and South Africa winning the T20I series 2-1. The test series is a part of the ongoing WTC with the Proteas topping the table.

England have named their squad for the first Test with Ben Stokes back as the skipper of the side. Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Stuart Broad and James Anderson are back in the side as well.

South Africa also have named their squad for the Test series with all their premier players back in the side. They have a potent bowling attack with Kagiso Rabada, Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi forming a formidable trio.

“There’s a lot of hype and a lot of things that get said. The bottom line is that this game is between bat and ball and you’ve got to make smart decision. It’s our job to try and stop them from doing that. It’s not a conversation about me talking about England. It’s a conversation about me talking about what we can get out of our players and prepare them as best we can to be on top of the game rather than behind” said Proteas Head coach Mark Boucher when asked about the “Bazball” approach from England.

ENG vs SA Weather Forecast And Pitch Report of Lord’s, London – South Africa Tour of England, 2022 1st Test

Lord’s has hosted 142 Test matches in the past with 51 matches won by the team batting first and 42 by the team batting second. London mostly has fair weather for cricket. However, the weather for this first SA vs ENG Test match does not seem to be a good one. There is rain predicted on all five days of the match with the weather expected to remain between 20- 25 degrees across the five days.
