ENG vs SA: Where Is Bazball? Twitter Brutally Trolls England For Humiliating Loss vs South Africa In World Cup 2023

The Aiden Markram-led South Africa National Cricket Team absolutely hammered the Jos Buttler-led England National Cricket Team in the 20th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, October 21.

The coin fell in Jos Buttler’s favour and England elected to bowl first in the match. They made some tremendous changes to the playing XI as Ben Stokes, Gus Atkinson, and David Willey replaced Liam Livingstone, Sam Curran, and Chris Woakes. The Proteas were without their skipper Temba Bavuma in the match as he was sick and was replaced by Reeza Hendricks.

After opting to bowl first, England removed Quinton de Kock in the first over itself to hand a massive blow to the Proteas. However, after that, nothing went in the favour of the Three Lions as the South African batters destroyed the English bowling unit.

Reeza Hendricks (85) and Rassie van der Dussen (60) stitched together 121 runs and then Heinrich Klaasen and Aiden Markram had a brilliant 69-run stand. Then, David Miller got out for a low score of 5 which led to Marco Jansen joining Klaasen in the middle.

The duo brought out an aggressive brand of cricket and gave a nightmare to the defending champions. Both the batters used the conditions brilliantly and smashed the bowlers all over the park.

It was total domination from the batters and they added 151 runs in just 77 balls. Heinrich Klaasen smashed 109 runs off 67 balls, including 12 fours and 4 sixes, while Marco Jansen scored 75 runs off 42 balls, including 3 fours and 6 sixes to help South Africa post 399/7 on the board. For England, Reece Topley bagged three wickets while Adil Rashid and Gus Atkinson picked two wickets each.

Chasing the target, England showcased a batting horror show and they were dominated by the Proteas pacers. No batter of the English team was able to get going and they lost half the side for just 67 runs.

Then, they kept losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually bundled out for 170 to face a humiliating defeat of 229 runs. Mark Wood and Gus Atkinson showed some fireworks by smashing 17-ball 43 and 21-ball 35 but as the latter got bowled by Keshav Maharaj it was the 9th wicket and that was it as Reece Topley was unable to bat due to his injury.
