Ex-India Batter Robin Uthappa Roped In By Dubai Capitals (DC) For Inaugural Edition Of UAE's ILT20

Former India National Cricket Team batter Robin Uthappa, 37, has joined the Dubai Capitals (DC) franchise for the inaugural edition of the International League T20 (ILT20).
On September 14, 2022, Robin Uthappa announced his retirement from all forms of international and Indian cricket and obtained a no-objection Certificate (NOC) from Kerala, to play overseas T20 leagues.

Uthappa played all 15 seasons of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and represented as many as six franchises in the tournament — Chennai Super Kings, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Pune Warriors India, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals. He also won the IPL championships with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Chennai Super (CSK).
Overall, Robin Uthappa played 205 IPL games and scored 4952 runs at an average of 27.51 and a strike rate of 130.35. He smashed 27 half-centuries in the IPL with 88 being his best score.

The Dubai-based ILT20 franchise took to Twitter to confirm the acquisition of Robin Uthappa.
“As classy as it gets at Dubai Capitals. Here’s welcoming Robbie to our family, now eager to see a few dancing down-the-track shots at the Dubai International,” tweeted Dubai Capitals on Thursday, December 15.
The International League T20 (ILT20) is all set to commence on January 13, 2023, and the summit clash is scheduled to be played on February 12, 2023. The 6-team tournament will be a 34-match event as each team will be playing the others twice in the league, followed by four playoff matches.
The teams taking part in the tournament are Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, Sharjah Warriors, and Desert Vipers.
