Former India captain Krishnamachari Srikkanth has heaped praise on Mumbai Indians (MI) opener Rohit Sharma following his knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in IPL 2025. Srikkanth stated that the former MI skipper's half-century is a reminder of why the opener is considered a "legend" in cricket.
Rohit Sharma helped Mumbai Indians secure a seven-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad on Wednesday, April 23. He scored 70 runs off 46 balls, featuring eight boundaries and three sixes, as MI chased down the 144-run target in just 15.4 overs. This was his second consecutive half-century of the 2025 season.
There Is a Reason Why Rohit Sharma Is a Legend - Krishnamachari Srikkanth
Krishnamachari Srikkanth said that Rohit Sharma has the ability to dominate once settled at the crease. Srikkanth emphasized that if Rohit stays at the wicket for over six overs, the opposition is in trouble. He also hinted that Sunrisers' playoff hopes were all but over, wishing them better luck next season.
"What a knock and what a time to come into form! If this guy is in the wicket for more than 6 overs then God help the opposition! There is a reason why he's a legend and he just showed all of us why? Good luck SRH next year!" Srikkanth wrote on X (formerly known as Twitter).
