Flop ODI XI of 2022
Shikhar Dhawan (India)
Shikhar Dhawan had a poor ODI series against Bangladesh and South Africa in 2022 where he averaged less than 10 both times. He did considerably well in ODIs against West Indies, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand- the first two, in particular, averaging over 50.
However, he managed only 688 runs in 22 ODIs averaging 34.4-his lowest since 2013.His strike rate of 74.22 was also concerning. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022.

Aaron Finch (Australia)
Australia’s ex-skipper opener Aaron Finch retired from ODIs in 2022 as his poor run with the bat continued 2022. In 14 matches, he could score only 174 runs averaging 12.43. He averaged less than 25 in his last 4 ODI series against Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, and New Zealand.
Mushfiqur Rahim (Bangladesh) (WK)
The Bangladesh keeper Mushfiqur Rahim had disappointed in 2022 in ODIs for managing just 230 runs in 12 ODIs averaging only 23 and a low strike rate of 71.65. His ODI average was his lowest since 2007-2008.
He had also scored only 2 fifties- 86 against Afghanistan and 52* against Zimbabwe. Taking these fifties aside, he failed to cross 25 in the other ODIs. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022. He had earlier retired from T20Is.
Mohammad Haris (Pakistan) (WK)
Mohammad Haris deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022. The wicketkeeper batter made his debut in both T20I and ODI formats in 2022. Although he did manage 104 runs in 5 T20Is averaging 20.8, he could score only 10 runs in 4 ODIs averaging 3.33 at a strike rate of 55.55.
Ben Stokes (England)
England ex-skipper Ben Stokes retired from ODIs in 2022 to reduce workload. He averaged less than 30 in each of the last 3 ODI series against Pakistan, India, and South Africa. In his last ODI, he scored 5 off 11 balls against Proteas but he may be recalled for the 2023 ODI World Cup. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022, for managing just 53 runs in 4 ODIs averaging 13.25.
Rovman Powell (West Indies)
Rovman Powell only scored 111 runs in 8 ODIs in 2022 averaging a mere 13.88. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022 for averaging less than 20 in bilateral ODI series against Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. With 50 overs World Cup 2023 coming soon next year, he will want to amend his stats.
Kieron Pollard (West Indies)
Kieron Pollard retired from international cricket in 2022. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022. The West Indian all-rounder managed just 73 runs in 4 ODIs averaging a mere 18.25 in 2022. Apart from a 69 against Ireland, he scored in single digits. He also picked only 1 wicket averaging 12. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022.
Marco Jansen (South Africa)
Marco Jansen, the Proteas pace all-rounder had a poor 2022 as he could only manage 16 runs in 3 ODIs, 2 innings averaging 8 at a low strike rate of 69.57. He averaged 74.5 with the ball as he picked 2 scalps in his debut year 2022. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022.
Ravi Bishnoi (India)
Indian leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi debuted in the ODI against South Africa and had a day to forget. In his only ODI to date in 2022, he was hit for 69 runs in 8 overs and although he picked 1 scalp, his average was 69, and his economy rate was 8.63. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022.
Nathan Ellis (Australia)
Australian pacer Nathan Ellis had the year 2022 to forget in ODIs as he scored only 6 runs in 3 ODIs in this year besides taking 3 scalps with a best of 1/36 averaging 49.67.?? He also debuted like Ravi Bishnoi and Avesh Khan in the year 2022. He debuted in the ODI series against Pakistan. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022.
Avesh Khan (India)
Indian pacer Avesh Khan who had performed poorly in T20Is hasn’t performed up to expectations in ODIs too. In 5 ODIs, he had picked only 3 scalps in 5 ODIs averaging a high 71.33. All of his matches came in 2022 and apart from a 3/66 against Zimbabwe, he had returned wicketless against South Africa and West Indies. He deserves to be in the flop ODI XI of 2022.
