Former Pakistani Bowler Mohammad Sami Claims To Have "Bowled Two Balls Faster Than 160 Kmph," But They Were Not Recorded

Former Pakistan bowler Mohammad Sami claims that he delivered two over 160kmph deliveries in a game that were not recorded.

When he first went to play cricket, former Pakistan bowler Mohammad Sami was one of the greatest possibilities for his country, and he developed a devastating tandem with Shoaib Akhtar.

Sami bowled continuously in the 145-150kmph zone, and the pair, together with Akhtar, made the opposing batsmen suffer.

Nevertheless, the former Pakistan pacer claims that he delivered two over 160kmph deliveries in a game that were not recorded because the pace gun was broken.

“In a match, I delivered two balls faster than 160kmph, one at 162 and the other at 164. After then, the bowled machine (speed gun) was claimed to be broken. As a result, no balls were recorded. “However, if you look at the whole picture, whoever has bowled at a speed of moreover 160 has only bowled one or two balls at that speed,” Sami said.

“It’s not like they’ve bowled at that speed regularly. It happens now and then,” Mohammad Sami said.

Mohammad Sami was a prominent player in Pakistani cricket:

Sami played 36 Tests, 87 One-Day Internationals, and 13 Twenty-20 Internationals for Pakistan, taking 227 wickets across all formats of the game.

In 2016, the pacer was a member of Pakistan’s T20 World Cup team, and he played his final international match against Australia in Mohali during the same event.

In 2001, Sami made his Test debut in Auckland against New Zealand. He made his One-Day International debut against Sri Lanka in Sharjah a month later.

The fastest delivery in international cricket was bowled by Shoaib Akhtar against New Zealand in 2002 with a speed of 161 kmph.
