The Pakistan skipper, Salman Agha, might land in trouble, as the BCCI is set to lodge an official complaint against the player for his propagandizing remarks from the post-match conference after the India vs Pakistan Asia Cup final concluded.
The India vs Pakistan final at the Asia Cup 2025 not only ended in India's victory but also witnessed several dramas. Salman Agha's most disrespectful act was throwing away the runner-up cheque after receiving it on the podium.
Another major controversy that has shocked all was the Indian team refusing to accept the Asia Cup trophy from the hands of the ACC and the current PCB Chief, Mohsin Naqvi. Naqvi too didn't budge an inch and took the trophy off the field.
Pakistan skipper followed in Suryakumar Yadav's footsteps, but with a controversial remark
From the post-match conference after the Asia Cup final, Indian skipper Suryakumar Yadav announced he would donate his entire match fees from the Asia Cup 2025 to the Indian Army and the families of those affected in the Pahalgam attack.
Following his footsteps, Pakistan skipper Salman Agha said that the team would also donate their match fees to the civilians who were affected by India's Operation Sindoor. Though the statement seems noble, the controversy began when he claimed civilians were affected by the operation.
The Indian Armed Forces claimed that the terrorist camps were destroyed in Pakistan and PoK in the aftermath of the Pahalgam Terror attack. It had nothing to do with civilian unrest.
Indian players get Rs 4 lakh per T20I match, which means that Suryakumar would be donating a total of Rs 28 lakh for the seven games played in the Asia Cup 2025.
BCCI to lodge an official complaint against the Pakistan captain
For having made such a controversial statement, the Pakistan skipper, Salman Agha, might land in trouble, as the BCCI is all set to lodge an official complaint against him. This has been claimed in the reports published on Jagran.com.
The sources of the Jagran also added that the board said that the comment was not only controversial from Agha but also political. The comment directly launched an attack on a very sensitive cross-border issue, and it breaks the Code of Conduct, and also has India's name in it.
The Pakistan captain, Salman Agha, justified the Asian Cricket Council and PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi's act of taking the trophy off the field following India's refusal to accept it from him.
BCCI officials quit meeting amid controversy with PCB chief
The 5 Test-playing nations from the ACC were to decide on the Asia Cup Trophy row in an extended version of the Annual General Meeting. However, it has been reported that the BCCI representatives had squared off and questioned the ACC chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, on the Asia Cup trophy controversy.
Agha had said in the presser: "If you don't accept the trophy from the ACC president, how will you get it?"
With no proper reply obtained from the ACC Chief, the BCCI representatives made an exit from the meeting that they were attending online and have also vowed to escalate the matter to the ICC.
