India National Cricket Team head coach Gautam Gambhir gave a befitting reply to Australia National Cricket Team head coach Andrew McDonald after his 'India were intimidating' comments. He also shared his verdict on the fight between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas.

The Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 arguably was one of the best series in the longest format of the game. Not only the competition between bat and ball was high, but it also saw players of both India and Australia getting engaged in heated moments.

Andrew McDonald calls India's celebration for Sam Konstas 'intimidating'

One of the best moments came when Sam Konstas was involved in a fight with Jasprit Bumrah during the last over of Day 1. The fast bowler was bowling to Usman Khawaja, and it was the Australian youngster, who was at the non-striker's end, who had a go at the India captain, who then went close to him and shared some words.

One ball later, Jasprit Bumrah removed Usman Khawaja and what caught the attention of many was the celebration of the India National Cricket Team. The entire team had a go at Sam Konstas and celebrated wildly around him as the Indian team ended the day on high.

Following that Australia National Cricket Team head coach Andrew McDonald talked about the Indian team's celebration. He said that it was intimidating for the India National Cricket Team to have a go at Sam Konstas.

He had no right to be talking to Jasprit Bumrah when Usman Khawaja was taking time - Gautam Gambhir on Sam Konstas

Gautam Gambhir, while replying to Andrew McDonald, said that there wasn't anything intimidating about it. He also lashed out at Sam Konstas, saying that the young batter had no right to be involved with Jasprit Bumrah. Speaking to reporters, he explained:

"Look, it's a tough sport played by tough men. You can't be that soft. As simple as it can get. I don't think anything was intimidating about it.

"I think that's just...He had no right to be talking to Jasprit Bumrah when Usman Khawaja was taking time. He had no right, no business to be involved with Jasprit Bumrah. That was the job of the umpire. Probably the guy who was batting at the end," said Gautam Gambhir.

I think whatever has happened is history - Gautam Gambhir in a fight with Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas

Gautam Gambhir also talked about the fight between Virat Kohli and Sam Konstas during the MCG Test. He said the sport is played by tough men, and there was nothing wrong with it as Australian players also have done the same things in the past. He elaborated:

"I think whatever has happened is history. And whatever has happened has happened. And as I said, it is a tough sport played by tough men. And these things happen. I don't think we need to make a lot of big issues about it. It is not that only these incidents happen in this city.

"It has happened in the past as well. A lot of Australian players have done that. A lot of Australian players in the past have done that as well. So, I think we just keep making big issues about these things."
