Former Team India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh posted a cryptic message on social media, fueling speculation about a potential rift with legendary captain MS Dhoni. Harbhajan Singh's post came a day after his comments about his relationship with MS Dhoni went viral across social media platforms.
Harbhajan shared a dressing room with MS Dhoni for India for several years. The spinner was part of India's triumphs at the 2007 T20 World Cup and the 2011 ODI World Cup under Dhoni's leadership. However, Singh was gradually phased out of the Indian team, with Ravichandran Ashwin taking his place.
Dhoni's tenure also saw a transition, with players such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and R. Ashwin being pushed into the squad, while senior players like Harbhajan and Yuvraj Singh were sidelined during this period. This could have contributed to the growing distance between Dhoni and Harbhajan.
We Haven't Spoken, It's Been 10 Years and More - Harbhajan Singh
The Punjab cricketer recently revealed that he has not had any personal communication with MS Dhoni for over a decade. Speaking to News18, he said that their interactions were limited to professional discussions. Harbhajan noted that they didn’t communicate outside matches.
"No, I don't speak to Dhoni. When I was playing at CSK, that's when we spoke, but otherwise, we haven't spoken. It's been 10 years and more," Harbhajan said.
"When we were playing in the IPL at CSK, that's when we used to talk, and that, too, was restricted to the ground. After that, he did not come to my room, nor did I go to his," he further explained.
