The 25-year-old England National Cricket Team batting sensation Harry Brook has created a new world record after his stunning performance in the fifth and final ODI of the ongoing series against the Australia National Cricket Team at the County Ground, Bristol on Sunday, September 29.

Harry Brook is among the best new-age batters in the world currently and he was handed over the leadership of Team England after Jos Buttler was ruled out of the series against Australia with an injury.

Brook came under tremendous pressure in his first full-time stint as English captain as Australia demolished England in the first two matches, and he scored just 39 and 4 runs in those matches.

However, Harry Brook made sure to bounce back strong from the setback as he slammed 110* and 87 runs next two matches and played a vital role in England leveling the series 2-2.

In the series-decider as well, Harry Brook showed his class and destroyed the Australian bowling unit. He smashed 72 runs off 52 balls, including 3 fours and 7 sixes.

His innings in the final ODI took the tally of his runs to 312 in the ODI series against Australia, and with this, he created a new world record.

Brook surpassed MS Dhoni (285) and Virat Kohli (310) to become the batter to score most runs in a bilateral ODI series against the Aussies. He also equaled two more colossal records of most consecutive 50-plus scores as England's ODI captain and as a skipper against Australia.

England crumbled to Australia's spinners - Nasser Hussain on Harry Brook's England

England National Cricket Team posted 309 runs on the board as they faced a collapse and got bowled out in 49.2 overs. Speaking about this former England skipper Nasser Hussain said that the English batters failed miserably against the Aussie spinners.

"England crumbled to Australia's spinners," Nasser Hussain said on Sky Sports. They got off to a flyer, the moment there was pace on the ball, the ball disappeared everywhere. But then it crumbled. The moment spinners were landing it outside off stump, they changed their attack, and Steve Smith changed their attack. England will think they should have been 350 plus."

Nasser Hussain also opined that Harry Brook & Co. opened the door for Australia to get breakthroughs as they went a little too aggressive with the bat. He elaborated:

"I don't think they should have gone harder, but I understand why they did go hard. Us in the commentary box were saying this is a hard place to bowl spin.

"Probably what thy didn't adjust was once they started seeing it spin, 50 overs becomes quite a long time, we need to get a partnership. England have opened the door to Australia."

Nasser Hussain also criticized Australia's tactics to introduce Mitchell Starc despite spinners doing a good job in the match. He said:

"Starc was the wrong option. The discrepancy between pace on and pace off today is just worlds apart. Spin was going for under seven. England were 8-107. The brain has been trained for a decade (to bring Starc back on) but I would have stuck with spin."
