He Slammed Every Bowler – Shoaib Akhtar
During a recent chat, Shoaib Akhtar said that Sachin Tendulkar dominated the best bowlers in the world and scored runs against them, making him one of the ‘greatest’ ever.
“I feel sorry for Sachin Tendulkar as he faced planet Earth’s most dangerous bowling attack. He came up against Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis in the early 90s,” Shoaib Akhtar said.
“In the late 90s, Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and I were there in front of him. He slammed every bowler, including me. There can’t be any bigger batter than him,” he added.
Sachin Tendulkar made his international debut at the age of 16 against Pakistan and went on to play 200 matches in the longer format of the game.
“He had to face so many difficulties but the way he came out and bat, this guy has to be one of the greatest ever,” added Akhtar.
Sachin played 200 Tests, 463 ODIs, and 1 T20I match. He scored 15921 runs, 18426 runs, and 10 runs across the formats, respectively. He picked 46 wickets, 154 wickets, and 1 wicket in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
