Ace Australian pacer, Pat Cummins lavished rich praises on Shubman Gill after the youngster made his successful Test debut in the last tour Down Under. Replacing Prithvi Shaw as the opener, the 21-year-old looked at home while facing the Aussie quicks, and showcased his high class and elegance.

Shubman Gill returned with 259 in 3 Tests at an average of 51.80 striking a couple of half-centuries, the second of which – 91 in a 4th innings run-chase – helped India record an epic victory in Brisbane, and win the series.

Pat Cummins, Gill’s teammate at the Kolkata Knight Riders is extremely happy for the youngster’s rise in international cricket, albeit he scored runs against Australia. The speedster also says that the Punjab-born batsman is a laid-back character and doesn’t take cricket or life too seriously.

“He’s good, he’s young. He wants to take the game on and is really relaxed. He doesn’t take cricket or life too seriously. So it’s good fun to be with him,” Pat Cummins said in an Instagram live session by KKR.

“I get along really well with Shubman. It was a great debut for him last summer in Australia. We had some good contests out in the field. I really feel happy for him, he had a great start to his Test career,” he added.

We’ll be trying our best for you: Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins, who was the leading wicket-taker and the Man of the series in the Test series, asked the fans to continue to shower their love and support for the side on social media as they cannot be in the Eden Gardens – the IPL 2021 will follow a caravan schedule, no team will play any games at home, and will play at 4 different venues.

KKR finished 5th at the points table last season and missed out on the playoff berth due to net run rate after having the same amount of points as Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad.

We see it all and we absolutely love it, and we’ll be trying our best for you, so stick with us and yeah hopefully see you all soon,” the numero uno Test bowler said in a message to the fans.

The 2-time champions commence their campaign against David Warner’s side on April 11 in Chennai.
