"He Is An Idol To Me" - Iftikhar Ahmed Shares His Admiration For Misbah-ul-Haq

Iftikhar Ahmed, a middle-order batsman with Fortune Barishal in the Bangladesh Premier League, is affectionately referred to as “Chacha-e-Cricket” in Pakistani cricket circles.

His latest participation in the competition was notable since he achieved his first T20 century, a key career milestone.
Iftikhar expressed his love for his elder and cricketing hero, Misbah-ul-Haq, in a recent interview with Cricbuzz.

I Love Misbah-ul-Haq A Lot Both As A Person And As A Player: Iftikhar Ahmed

Iftikhar praised Misbah highly, both personally and as a player, saying that he has always regarded him as a role model.
He mentioned how Misbah was his captain and they had the chance to play together while they were both working for SNG Oil. He learned important lessons from this event that he still uses in his game today.

In addition, Iftikhar made his Test and ODI debut in front of Misbah, which added to the significance of the occasion for him.

“Misbah bhai is my senior and I like him a lot both as a person and as a player and I follow him. He was with me in my SNG Oil department and was my captain and I performed in front of him and later played international cricket and my Test and ODIs debut was in front of him,” Iftikhar said.

Iftikhar stressed how much he admires Misbah and how he has always tried to emulate him. He emphasised that he admires Misbah’s leadership abilities, work ethic, and personal integrity both on and off the field.

He said that Misbah was crucial in helping him get to the international level of cricket, saying that Misbah gave him a lot of support and was responsible for that.

” I really rate him very highly and I respect him a lot and the truth is Misbah bhai supported me a lot because when international cricket was happening in Pakistan and I was making a name for myself he was the captain and he brought me to international cricket and that is the reason I have a lot of respect for me and I follow him a lot a he is an idol to me,” he added.
