Big Bash League (BBL) franchise Hobart Hurricanes' high-performance manager Salliann Beams isn't keen to include England pacer Jofra Archer in the team for the next edition of the league. Beams claimed that the fast bowler doesn't fit in their team and they have plenty of other options.

Jofra Archer has returned in a full stretch after a long injury break. The fast bowler was out with an elbow injury which made him miss a lot of cricket for the team. This has also restricted him from taking part in T20 leagues around the world as the ECB didn't want to risk him.

Jofra Archer made a comeback for England in the series against Pakistan and then was part of the team for the T20 World 2024. The premier pacer was decent with the ball in the tournament. He helped his team reach the semi-final and picked 10 wickets from eight games at an average of 19 and an economy rate of 7.21.

With Jofra Archer returning in full tilt for the England team in the white-ball team, there are high chances that he might be there in some of the leagues around the corner. With BBL around the corner, there have been many speculations about the pacer returning to the league.

But Hobart Hurricanes' high-performance manager Salliann Beams ruled out the possibility of Jofra Archer's inclusion in the team. Beams claimed that the pacer doesn't fit in their team while calling him a quality player. As quoted by cricket.com.au, Beams explained:

"If you look at our bowlers in our team that offer (what Archer does), we've got Riley (Meredith), Nathan (Ellis) and now Chris (Jordan), it doesn't quite fit from a matchup point of view. What we're looking for is that all-rounder and then someone that can fit in the top four.

"Not saying that he's (Archer) not a quality player, he is absolutely, and if we needed that skill set, I think he would be a big target, but he just doesn't fit the balance of our team."

That's what we've identified in Chris - Salliann Beams on signing Jordan

Salliann Beams talked about the signing of Chris Jordan and said that the fast bowler lot for the team on and off the field. Beams claimed that the England fast bowler is an ultimate professional and while elaborating on the same, Beams explained:

"That's what's key with all these franchise competitions around the world, what they're doing is targeting those that are most available. That's what we've identified in Chris, we wanted someone not only that could perform on the pitch, he's actually bringing something off field."

"I think the players around him have looked at that and then looked inwardly to go 'I could be a lot better'. He's the guy that walks on the team bus with a foam roller and a mat … he's the ultimate professional and those sorts of behaviors rub off, they're contagious," Beams concluded.
