"I Am Trying To Create The Same Environment Which Was Created For Me" - Sachin Tendulkar On His Son Arjun’s Career

Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar opened up about his son Arjun Tendulkar’s future and said that he created the same environment for him as during his playing days in childhood. Sachin Tendulkar urged parents to give their children the required freedom.

Arjun Tendulkar made his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut against the Kolkata Knight Riders last month. The left-arm pacer represented the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the four matches and picked up three wickets with an average of 30.7 and an economy rate of 9.36.

Got The Support From My Family – Sachin Tendulkar

Sachin said that his elder brother Ajit Tendulkar was instrumental in his early cricketing years and added that his parents gave him freedom to play.

“I got the support from my family. Ajit Tendulkar (brother) was instrumental in finding a solution. Nitin Tendulkar (brother) made the painting for me on my birthday,” Tendulkar said.

“My mother was working in LIC, while my father was a professor. They gave me freedom. I urge parents to give freedom to their children as well,” he added.

Sachin Tendulkar revealed that he advised his son to pay attention to his game rather than thinking about the outside noise.

“I am trying to create the same environment which was created for me. When you appreciate yourself, people will appreciate you. Pay attention to your game as what my father used to say, and now I am telling Arjun,” he added.

“The media felicitated me when I retired from the game. At that time, I had requested the media to give the required space to Arjun and let him fall in love with Cricket. The journalists gave him the freedom, so I thank them for this,” he concluded.

Sachin Tendulkar and Arjun became the first father-son duo to play for the same franchise in the history of the IPL. Arjun Tendulkar has been part of the Mumbai Indians since 2021.
