Indian skipper Virat Kohli has won the Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer of the Decade. The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced the awards of the decade on Monday. The ICC nominated R Ashwin as the other Indian other than Virat Kohli in this category.

Virat Kohli has been the among best players in the last 10 years in international cricket. He began his career with team India after his heroics in the Under 19 World Cup after 2008. He won the 2011 World Cup with team India. He also won the ICC Champions Trophy in 2013 with the Indian Cricket Team.

The Indian skipper has an average of above 50 in world cricket. He enjoys the average in all formats of the game. He is the only batsman in the international circuit to have that sort of a record.

Virat Kohli Reacts After Winning The Sir Garfield Sobers Award for ICC Male Cricketer Of The Decade

After winning the award, Virat Kohli said, “It is an honour for me to win this award. The moments that are the closest to my heart is the 2011 World Cup win, the 2013 Champions Trophy win and the Test series win in Australia in 2018. There have been very special games for team India and for me personally in the last decade.”
