I Will Not Play For England – Mohammad Amir
Speaking to ARY News on Sunday, Mohammad Amir addressed the possibility of playing in the world’s richest league.
“First, I will not play for England. I have played for Pakistan. Second (talking of IPL), there is one more year to go. What will be the scenario at that time… I always say that I go step by step. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow and I start thinking about playing IPL in 2024,” Amir said.
“I don’t know where I will be a year later. No one knows about the future. When I get my passport …whatever the best opportunity will be and what I will get…I will avail it,” he added.

Mohammad Amir Can Join Azhar Mahmood In The Rare List
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) imposed restrictions on Pakistani players participating in the IPL. However, they can still be allowed to play in the IPL if they acquire citizenship in another country. Azhar Mahmood represented the Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders under his British passport.
Mohammad Amir has the opportunity to join a select group of Pakistan-based players who have played in the IPL. He can register for the IPL auction after obtaining a British passport. He could attract more bids from the franchises in the auction, given his impressive record against India in international cricket in the past.
