The Indian cricket team will face Pakistan in the first round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022. The thrilling match is set to take place on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). The two sides had previously met in the T20 World Cup 2021, with the Indian team losing by a humiliating 10-wicket margin.

Many former cricketers and experts have already begun making predictions for the high-octane match. Harbhajan Singh, a former cricketer, has now spoken out regarding the impending India-Pakistan match. The former Indian spinner, however, refrained from making a prediction since he recalls the Indian team’s performance against Pakistan in the most recent T20 World Cup event.

Former Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was speaking with the Punjab-born former cricketer. Harbhajan should not make any predictions about the match, according to Akhtar.

Harbhajan Singh Had Said Pakistan Should Give India A Walkover Ahead Of Last Year’s T20 World Cup Match In The UAE

“We have another T20 World Cup, and this year, I won’t be giving any statement and won’t talk over who will win [between Pakistan and India]. Mauka Mauka or whatever, we will see what is going to happen as last time around, things went bad due to this,” Harbhajan said, as per CricTracker.

“I told Shoaib Akhtar that there’s no sense in Pakistan participating; you should give us a walkover. You’ll play, you’ll lose again, and you’ll be upset. Our squad is extremely solid, very powerful, and they will easily beat you guys,” Bhajji had said last year according to CricTracker.

In the contest, Virat Kohli’s side batted first and managed to score a decent total of 151 runs in 20 overs, losing seven wickets. Kohli (57 off 49 balls) was the leading run-scorer for his team. Rishabh Pant, the wicketkeeper-batsman, too made a substantial contribution (39 runs off 30 balls). Shaheen Shah Afridi, the paceman, had a fantastic performance, taking three wickets. He was also named Man of the Match later on.
