Australia’s amazing fast bowler Pat Cummins said that he wouldn’t want to be in the position to bowl to MS Dhoni in death overs after seeing videos of the former India captain hitting fast bowlers for sixes. Cummins also mentioned what kind of bowling he would do to the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain.

MS Dhoni is recognized as one of the best finishers in limited-overs cricket along with Australia’s Michael Bevan. Dhoni has won numerous matches for India and also for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the last over, thankful to his big-hitting abilities against the fast bowlers.

I Prefer Not To Be In That Position,” Pat Cummins On Bowling Last Over To MS Dhoni

The 28-year-old fast bowler was having a Q&A session with his fans on his YouTube channel and Cummins was asked by one of the fans about his thought process when he would be bowling to Dhoni with six needed off one ball.

Cummins also discussed his strategy of bowling to MS Dhoni in the last over. The 28-year-old feels rather than bowling a yorker that could go for a maximum if it isn’t executed well, he would rely on variations to keep Dhoni under check.

“I think I have seen like a million videos of Dhoni hitting sixes off bowlers who missed yorkers. So I wouldn’t bowl a yorker, maybe a bouncer or slower ball or a wide yorker. I prefer not to be in that position,” Pat Cummins said.

The Chennai Game Where We Almost Chased Down 220-Odd And Came About 10 Runs Short Was A Tough One: Pat Cummins

Talking about MS Dhoni and playing Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2021, Pat Cummins recalled the game against the MS Dhoni-led side, where his team, the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) almost chased down a target in excess of 220 runs, with Cummins slamming a quick-fire half-century.

Cummins slammed 66 off just 34 balls, but his efforts went in vain.

“When IPL 2021 was canceled it was heartbreaking. I thought the second half was going to be huge for us. Personally, my bowling had started to click. Then obviously came the Chennai game where we almost chased down 220-odd and came about 10 runs short. So that was a tough one,” said Pat Cummins.

The second half of the IPL 2021 season likely to begin in September, and Pat Cummins and KKR will be hoping for a better and more consistent run of performances.
