The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday, January 12, announced the 15-member squad for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. Najmul Hossain Shanto will lead Bangladesh in the upcoming prestigious tournament, starting on February 19, 2025.

Ace Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan was overlooked for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025, as the Tigers have decided to go with the young blood. Notably, former skipper Tamim Iqbal is not part of the squad as he has retired from international cricket.

However, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mushfiqur Rahim, Taskin Ahmed, and Mustafizur Rahman have made the cut to the 15-member squad led by Najmul Hossain Shanto. Najmul Hossain Shanto will anchor Bangladesh’s batting lineup in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s seasoned players like wicketkeeper-batter Mushfiqur Rahim and all-rounder Mahmudullah provide stability, while the young wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali Anik, with only five ODIs to his name, is set to show his potential to the world on the grand stage.

Young and dynamic all-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz is set to impress with his explosive batting and leg-spin in the upcoming eight-nation tournament. Seasoned pacers Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman will be supported by the young guns Nahid Rana and Tanzim Hasan Shakib.

Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed completed a well-rounded squad along with the left-handed batter and wicketkeeper Parvez Hossain Emon, who is yet to make his ODI debut. Notably, apart from Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das was also omitted from the Champions Trophy squad.
