In a fiery response to India’s refusal to participate in the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Pakistan, Mohammad Amir has criticized the BCCI’s decision and called it a big blow to international cricket.
India, citing government restrictions in place since 2008, has opted out of playing in Pakistan, and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already conveyed its decision to the International Cricket Council (ICC).
India’s stance has sparked significant outbursts from Pakistan fans and former cricketers, and now reacting to the saga, Mohammad Amir said that cricket as a sport is the biggest loser in this conflict.
Mohammad Amir blasts India’s stance on Champions Trophy 2025
He emphasized that other teams should not suffer because of India. Amir questioned the fairness of India's stance, especially when Pakistan didn’t have any issue crossing borders for the game, and even they traveled twice for the ICC events.
Describing BCCI's call as "kiddish", the Pakistani pacer has bluntly suggested that if India doesn't want to come to Pakistan for the Champions Trophy 2025, then leave them alone and add another team to the tournament.
Mohammad Amir said in his YouTube Channel: “This is the loss of cricket, and this shouldn’t have happened. You can’t make other teams suffer because of one team. It would be better to keep India out of the tournament and add another team in their place. It is kiddish to refuse to play in Pakistan when other teams are ready to compete here.”
According to Mohammad Amir, the only solution for such a situation is that the ICC must enforce stricter regulations to counter governmental interference in cricket so that political issues can’t disrupt major tournaments.
Pakistan won't back down after massive investment in Champions Trophy 2025 preparation
Reflecting on growing sentiment within Pakistan, where upgrades and investments in cricket infrastructure are underway in preparation for the Champions Trophy 2025, Mohammad Amir said that India’s refusal not only undermines Pakistan’s efforts but also harms the spirit of the game.
Furthermore, the fiery pacer also hinted that Pakistan may not remain passive this time around, especially after investing heavily in stadium infrastructure upgrades for the Champions Trophy 2025.
Amir expressed confidence that Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman and Pakistan’s interior minister, would not allow Pakistan to bear the brunt of India’s absence, especially after investing millions in preparations for the prestigious tournament.

Amir further noted, “There should be a rule in place where ICC has the authority to take strict action against a member board of their government who interferes in cricketing matters. Otherwise, every other team will say they will not travel here and there. It seems the PCB is not going to fall in line this time as Mohsin Naqvi is the country’s interior minister, and he is not going to let Pakistan suffer after spending millions on the upgrades of the stadiums.”

Notably, it is being said that Pakistan is contemplating a bold response if the PCB loses its hosting rights for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to India’s refusal to cross the border.
Reports claimed that the Pakistani government could direct the PCB to end all cricketing ties with India in ICC and Asian events until the political tensions between the two nations are fully resolved.
