The International Cricket Council (ICC) is preparing a contingency plan for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 if the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) refuses to adopt the hybrid model. According to the latest reports, a resolution on the tournament venues will be taken during the upcoming ICC emergency meeting.
The upcoming ICC tournament has been in uncertainty due to ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan. Notably, the ICC has called an emergency meeting on November 26 to discuss the fate of the marquee tournament, which may be moved out of Pakistan if the PCB refuses to accept the hybrid model.

ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final Schedule to Be Revealed Soon
The final schedule for the Champions Trophy has been delayed due to India's refusal to travel to Pakistan and the PCB's rejection of the hybrid model. The ICC is set to reveal the schedule after the upcoming meeting. The tournament is scheduled to begin on February 19, with the final set for March 9.
Earlier, the Board of Control for Cricket in India refused to send the Indian team to Pakistan due to security concerns and ongoing diplomatic tensions. The Pakistan Cricket Board intends to host the entire 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan. They have finalized three venues for the marquee event.
Hopefully, All The Teams Will Come - PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi
The PCB is preparing three venues — Lahore, Karachi, and Rawalpindi — for the Champions Trophy. PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi is confident of hosting the event and mentioned that all teams, except India, are ready to participate.
Naqvi said that if India has concerns regarding security or other issues, they are open to discussions and will address them. He expressed hope that all teams, including India, will ultimately take part in the tournament.
Every other team that has qualified for the Champions Trophy is ready to come. No one has any concern. If India have any concerns, we will talk, and we will ensure that concerns are taken care of. I don't think there is any reason why India can't come to Pakistan. Hopefully, all the teams will come," Naqvi had said during an inspection visit to Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
The PCB's decision to include Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir (POK) in the Champions Trophy tour led to objections from the BCCI. As a result, the ICC revised the schedule, limiting the trophy's tour to Pakistani cities like Islamabad and Taxila. The journey to other nations will start on November 26.
