India National Cricket Team skipper Rohit Sharma is gearing up for the side's first clash against Bangladesh National Cricket Team in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Men in Blue will open their campaign on Thursday (20th February) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai.

On the eve of India's first game against Bangladesh in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, Rohit Sharma attended the press conference and spoke about the plans for the tournament. However, what caught the attention of many was that the skipper didn't look fit enough.

Rohit appeared visibly unwell as he was seen coughing multiple times on camera. This sent a sense of scare among the India National Cricket Team fans ahead of the Bangladesh clash. The captain was even offered water by an organizing committee member, but he declined.

Rohit came up with, "I am fine." But he kept coughing, and this raised many speculations about whether the batter is 100% fit for the opening clash of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 or not. The batter, after the press conference headed to training with the rest of the team.

During the press conference, Rohit Sharma also talked about the importance of adapting to conditions as quickly as possible. He also stated that playing for the country is paramount and expressed confidence in squad depth. He explained:

"I think it's about assessing the pitch as quickly as possible. We've played a lot of cricket here (Dubai) in the past. We have to adapt as quickly as possible and let our instincts take over based on the situation."

"Going out there and representing your country is paramount. There will be times when we miss out on a few people due to injuries, but we have other experienced cricketers in our lineup."

We can't really think too much about that - Rohit Sharma on dew factor

Rohit Sharma also addressed talks related to dew in Dubai. He mentioned that it's unpredictable for everyone, adding that they can't think much about that. He explained:

"I'm not very sure about the dew. It's quite unpredictable for all of us. We can't really think too much about that. If there are overcast conditions, we have the arsenal to combat that."

After the class against Bangladesh, the India National Cricket Team will be up against the arch-rivals Pakistan National Cricket Team. The match is slated to take place on Sunday (23rd February) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai, and if they manage to win both games, they will almost seal a place in the semi-final.

India will be keen to start the tournament on high as a win in the first game will set the tempo for the rest of the event. It remains to be seen what combination will Men in Blue opt for against Bangladesh.
