ICC Test Rankings: Kagiso Rabada dethrones Jasprit Bumrah to become the number 1 bowler

South Africa ace pacer Kagiso Rabada has dethroned Team India fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah as the No. 1 bowler in the ICC Test rankings. Kagiso Rabada has jumped three places to reach the summit of the rankings, while Jasprit Bumrah and Ravichandran Ashwin have dropped down two spots each.

Jasprit Bumrah went wicketless during the second Test of the ongoing three-match Test series against New Zealand in Pune. The home team suffered a 113-run loss in the recent Test match. New Zealand, led by Tom Latham, secured the series victory and is currently leading the Test series by a margin of 2-0.

Kagiso Rabada Becomes No.1 Ranked Test Batter In Updated Rankings

Kagiso Rabada reached his 300th Test wicket during South Africa's recent seven-wicket victory over Bangladesh in Mirpur. The 29-year-old fast bowler took nine wickets in the match. Kagiso Rabada became the No. 1 ranking for Test bowlers for the first time since early 2019 after achieving 860 rating points.

Josh Hazlewood moved up to second place in the bowling rankings. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja have dropped two spots each, finishing with fourth and eighth, respectively. Meanwhile, Pakistani spinner Noman Ali entered the top ten rankings after impressive performances against England.

Pakistan bowler Sajid Khan also reached his career-best ranking, moving up 12 spots to 38th after taking 19 wickets in his last two Tests. New Zealand all-rounder Mitchell Santner climbed 30 places to 44th with his 13-wicket performance that helped his team secure a series victory over Team India in Pune.

Yashasvi Jaiswal has moved to the top three after his performance in the second Test against New Zealand, where he scored 30 and 77. The 22-year-old batter is behind Joe Root and Kane Williamson on the list. New Zealand batter Rachin Ravindra moved up eight spots into the top 10 rankings.

Virat Kohli And Rishabh Pant Out Of Top 10 After Second Test

Meanwhile, both Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli have been dropped out of the top 10 in the rankings. Pant and Kohli are in 11th and 14th place, respectively, after their poor performances in the second Test match. Pant scored just 18 runs and got a duck, while Kohli added 18 runs across two innings.

Pakistan vice-captain Saud Shakeel moved up 20 spots to seventh after scoring 134 runs against England in the third Test, which helped Pakistan secure a nine-wicket victory and win the series 2-1.

Devon Conway (up eight places to 28th), Tom Latham (up six spots to 34th), and Glenn Phillips (up 16 rungs to 45th) also made notable gains. South Africa's Kyle Verreynne improved 14 spots to 32nd following his 114-run performance against Bangladesh in the opening Test.
