The BCCI medical team in an official release has provided key updates on the five Indian players who are currently injured. The likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, and Rishabh Pant are the players concerned who are working on their fitness to make a comeback into the team.
Jasprit Bumrah has been out of the Indian cricket team since September 2022. He withdrew from the T20I series against South Africa after playing two games against Australia. Bumrah missed the Asia Cup, T20 World Cup, and the WTC final against Australia.

Earlier this year, he tried to return in the series against Sri Lanka but the BCCI said that he did not regain complete fitness. The Indian pacer underwent back surgery and has been working at the NCA on his fitness ever since. With the Asia Cup in August-September, followed by the ODI World Cup at home, the team management is sweating over his availability in the squad.

Jasprit Bumrah, Prasidh Krishna Bowling With Full Intensity: BCCI Medical Team
The BCCI medical team provide key updates on Bumrah and Krishna stating that both of them are in the final stages of their rehab and bowling full throttle at the nets.
“The two fast bowlers are in the final stages of their rehab and are bowling with full intensity in the nets. The duo will now play some practice games, which the NCA will organise. The BCCI Medical Team is pleased with their progress and will make a final decision after assessing them following the practice games” BCCI’s media release stated.
The medical team also provided updates on the fitness of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul. While Iyer is ruled out with a calf injury, Rahul was ruled out halfway through the IPL due to a hamstring injury. Both players are out of the Indian team due to their respective injuries. They are also expected to be fit by the time the ODI World Cup starts.
“They have resumed batting in the nets and are currently undergoing strength and fitness drills. The BCCI Medical Team is satisfied with their progress and will increase their intensity in terms of both skills and strength and conditioning in the coming days” the BCCI medical team said on Rahul and Iyer.
The BCCI medical team also provided an update on Rishabh Pant. The wicketkeeper-batsman has been out of the Indian team since meeting an unfortunate accident on December 31. He is also rehabilitating at the NCA in Bengaluru. Pant missed the T20 World Cup and the WTC final where he was deal missed by the Indian team.
“He has made significant progress in his rehabilitation and has commenced batting as well as keeping in the nets. He is currently following a fitness programme designed for him which includes strength, flexibility and running” said the BCCI medical team on Pant’s recovery status.
