In the exclusive interview, Amir stated that India is his first-choice squad for an upcoming event. He cited their familiarity with the home environment as the rationale for this decision, believing that it would provide them with a substantial edge. India boasts a powerful cricket team that has previously performed admirably on their home turf. Their players are seasoned and well-suited to the conditions, which can be critical in any match. Amir’s selection reflects his admiration for India’s cricketing ability and track record on home soil.

“India without a doubt, because those conditions suit them very well. England, I think they will be my favourite. New Zealand, we always underestimate them but they always make it to the top four. Lastly, either Australia or Pakistan will be in the top four among these teams,” Mohammad Amir said.

“Pakistan is a late-starter”- Mohammad Amir

Mohammad Amir views Australia and Pakistan as his top two picks for the fourth position, although he is aware of Pakistan’s history of sluggish tournament starts. He does stress that Pakistan is now in a better position than England, though. This shows that Amir is more optimistic about Pakistan’s chances of succeeding in the upcoming competition.

It’s interesting to see that he took the playing circumstances into mind because they have a big impact on how games turn out. Amir suggests that Pakistan has an advantage over them and may be able to start the campaign on a high note by recognizing the beneficial conditions for them.

“Pakistan is a late starter, as you may have noticed that whenever a big event comes, we have a slow start. The current conditions are favourable for Pakistan compared to England, and if our bowling performs well because we have batters who can score 300-350 runs, our bowling will play a crucial role, that’s why I’m saying that Pakistan also has chances,” Mohammad Amir concluded.
