ICC World Cup 2023: "Pakistan Not Going To The World Cup Isn't The Right Move" Ex-Pakistan Player Danish Kaneria

Former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria believes that his country not coming to India to play the ODI World Cup later this year is not the correct move. India is set to host the 50-over WC in October-November this year.
The 2023 Asia Cup is set to be hosted by Pak. But India has refused to travel; to the nation for the tournament, instead wanting to play their games in some other country like UAE or Sri Lanka. This might encourage Pakistan to not come to India for the World Cup, although it has not been said in any official capacity.

On his YouTube Channel, Kaneria addressed the duality of the situation but still believed that the Men in Green should visit their neighbors for the cup.
“India will definitely not visit Pakistan. If Pakistan think that they can conduct the tournament without India, they should go ahead. But Pakistan not going to the World Cup isn’t the right move,” Kaneria said

He highlighted that Pakistan could end up facing the consequences of not participating in the WC, as it is an ICC tournament.
“If you want to play on the front foot, you have to tackle a lot of out swingers and in swingers. They might have to face some consequences, as the World Cup is an ICC event.”
Danish Kaneria wants Pakistan to clear the air regarding the World Cup situation and India’s participation in the Asia Cup
As eluded to before BCCI has proposed to hold India’s matches at September’s Asia Cup in a neutral venue.
The tournament, which is supposed to be held in Pakistan this year, sees two groups of 3 teams playing each other twice. While India and Pakistan are in one group with a qualifying nation, Afghanistan is in the other group with Bangladesh and defending champions Sri Lanka. The round-robin system will ensure that Ind and Pak will play each other at least twice.
Kaneria said that the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) needs to give a clarification on the location matter soon.
“The ACC needs to come out and give clarification on the matter. The board should make its stance clear and confirm where the Asia Cup is going to take place. If India refuse to play, and if Pakistan think they can still generate enough revenue, the tournament should go ahead. However, I feel that Pakistan should consider hosting it in Dubai,” Kaneria said.
The last edition of the Asia Cup was held in the UAE as well.
