ICC World Cup 2023: "Urge BCCI To Ensure That Our Players Have Bharat On Their Chest"- Virender Sehwag

Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag has come up with a unique suggestion to BCCI after the selection committee announced India’s 15-member World Cup squad on September 5, 2023.
Rohit Sharma will be leading the 15-member side with India looking to win their third World Cup title as the hosts. They kick off their campaign against Australia in Chennai on October 8.
The Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee decided to not include Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, the two specialist spinners. Instead, they decided to go with Axar Patel and Shardul Thakur keeping in mind their ability with the bat.
Meanwhile, Sehwag has urged the BCCI to make sure that should do away with the name ‘India’ on their official jerseys for the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023. Instead, he said that the name “Bharat” should be printed on the chest of the Indian players.

In another tweet, Sehwag pointed out how the Netherlands used ‘Holland’ as their official name for the 1996 ODI World Cup and Burma also reverted to Myanmar.
In the 1996 World Cup ,Netherlands came to play in the World cup in Bharat as Holland. In 2003 when we met them, they were the Netherlands & continue to be so.
Burma have changed the name given by the British back to Myanmar.
