Asked to bat first, India were bowled out for 217 in the first innings with none of the players reaching a half-century. The right-arm spinner picked 6 wickets in an innings during Australia vs England 1st Test in August 2019. The off-spinner also picked 5 wickets in both the innings during Australia vs New Zealand 3rd Test in January 2020.
