ICC WTC Final: Rishabh Pant Reveals His Favourite Test Cricketer

The Indian and Kiwi cricketers revealed their favourite Test cricketer heading into the ICC World Test Championship final. Ravichandran Ashwin, Rishabh Pant and Cheteshwar Pujara revealed their favorite cricketers from the Indian team while Neil Wagner and Colin De Grandhomme revealed their choices from the Kiwi squad.
Rishabh Pant made an interesting choice while naming his favourite Test cricketer. He took the name of Adam Gilchrist. He said that Gilchrist was also a wicket-keeper batsman like him which is why he picked him as his choice. He further said that he used to watch him as a kid while growing up.

Meanwhile, Ashwin and Pujara both named Sachin Tendulkar as their favourite Test cricketers. Pujara further said that he used to watch former Indian captains Rahul Dravid and Sourav Ganguly along with Sachin while growing up. Both Pujara and Ashwin made their Test debut with Tendulkar still around with the Indian team.
De Grandhomme said that he was always excited to watch Andrew Symonds play for Australia while Wagner said that former Protean pacer Allan Donald inspired him.
The WTC final started a day later than the scheduled date. Day 1 of the game was washed out due to rain. The Kiwis won the toss on day 2 and asked India to bat first. India scored India ended day 2 on 146/3 with the game in the balance for both sides. India lost four wickets for 65 runs in the first session of play on day 3.
The play was called off multiple times post-lunch on day 2 due to bad light and stumps was called earlier than scheduled time. A lot of time has already been lost in the Test match after the first day was washed out. However, with a reserve day in place, there are still three days of cricket left including the remaining phase of play on day 3.
Meanwhile, India will play a five-match Test series against England after the WTC final. India lost the Test series that they last played in England 4-1 of which Rishabh Pant was a part of.
