England fast bowler Jofra Archer made a comeback to professional cricket after almost two years by representing MI Cape Town in the inaugural edition of the SA20. Jofra Archer said that he is hoping to play the full season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, which is scheduled to take place in April and May.
The right-arm fast bowlers last played in the IPL for the Rajasthan Royals against the Kolkata Knight Riders in 2020. He missed the last two editions of the cash-rich league due to injuries. The Mumbai-based franchise bought him for Rs. 8 crore in last year’s mega auction, despite he would miss the entire season.

Jofra Archer said he wants to play for the Mumbai Indians without any restrictions. However, the tearaway pace bowler admitted that he would understand if he doesn’t get to play back-to-back games.
“If I’m told I’m not playing I don’t question it. Usually back-to-back games I don’t even bother to ask because I already know what the answer is,” Archer said.
The Rohit Sharma-led team has already suffered big blows with Jasprit Bumrah and Jhye Richardson having been ruled out of the upcoming season due to injuries.

I Haven’t Lost An Ashes Series As Yet – Jofra Archer
The 27-year-old made his international return in January 2023 against South Africa in the three-game ODI series, following a long injury layoff. Archer said that he would be happy even if he could play a single Test this summer.
“If I can play one game this summer, I’ll be happy. If I play more than one, that’s just a bonus. I haven’t lost an Ashes series as yet, so hopefully we can keep it that way. But nothing but great memories. Probably the best ever Test you’ll ever get to witness, let alone on TV but in person, so, now that summer is probably one of the best summers I’ve had.
Jofra Archer made his debut in the longer format of the Ashes against England in 2019 at home. He played four matches in the series, taking 22 wickets in four Tests with an impressive average of 20.27, including two five-fers.
