On day two of the ongoing third Test between India and Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), Marnus Labuschagne kept chirping non-stop to unsettle the Indian batsmen. He first targeted young opener Shubman Gill who was playing just his second Test. But the India star managed to keep his cool and went on to score his maiden Test fifty.
Marnus Labuschagne was fielding at short-leg when he initiated the conversation with Gill. The Australia star asked Gill: “Who’s your favourite player.” Gill was quick to reply to the Australian but he did not answer the question as he said: “I will tell you after the match.” Marnus Labuschagne was not done yet as he continued: “After the match? Sachin? Or may be Virat?”
And after the day’s play, Marnus Labuschagne opened up on his chirping. When asked about the incident with Gill, the Australian hilariously that he was disappointed with Gill not answering his question on who is his favourite cricketer. The right-handed batsman also said that he would get the answer out of Gill.
“I was just asking him friendly questions. He wouldn’t answer me. So, it was disappointing. I just enjoy it out there. I have not said anything rude. I was just asking him questions, like who is his favourite player?” said Marnus Labuschagne.
“He didn’t give me an answer, but I’ll get it out of him, don’t worry,” he added.
