In a video posted by the International Cricket Council (ICC), Mohammed Siraj appeared nervous as Kohli survived a dropped catch. The incident occurred during the eighth over of India???s run chase.

The 34-year-old grabbed the opportunity with both hands and scored the match-winning half-century. He scored 85 runs off 116 deliveries before being dismissed by Hazelwood. Kohli and Rahul added a 165-run partnership for the fourth wicket to stabilize the innings.

In a conversation with Star Sports, Ravichandran Ashwin revealed his intense reaction to Virat Kohli???s near dismissal. Ashwin said that he ran out of the dressing room in disbelief and wanted to avoid witnessing the outcome.
???When I saw Virat Kohli???s ball go up in the air, I ran outside the dressing room. I literally ran all the way outside. I didn???t know what to do. I was like, ???just wake me up when it???s all over???. It was that sort of a feeling,??? Ashwin told Star Sports.
The home team lost three wickets for just two runs inside the two overs. Rohit Sharma, Ishan Kishan, and Shreyas Iyer failed to open their accounts. KL Rahul was rewarded with the Player of the Match award for his unbeaten 97-run knock in the tournament opener.
The Rohit Sharma-led team secured two crucial points and moved to fifth place in the 10-team points table. The Indian team will play against Afghanistan in their next match of the tournament at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday, October 11.
