Suryakumar Yadav was not a part of Team India’s playing eleven for their World Cup opener. The Men in Blue opened their campaign in the ongoing marquee event by locking horns against five-time world champions Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.
While the right-handed batsman had made a strong case for his inclusion in the team by smashing a whirlwind fifty against Australia last month, the team management decided to go with the tried and tested faces. Shreyas Iyer was picked as the no.4 batter while KL Rahul played as the no.5.
But while Suryakumar Yadav did not play the game, the cameraman made sure to help him grab the limelight albeit for a hilarious reason. As Team India fought it out against Australia on the field, Suryakumar Yadav decided to have his meal while being seated in the dugout. And as soon as he decided to eat, the cameraman turned the camera towards him.
The India star noticed it on the big screen and stopped chewing before giving a cheeky stare at the camera in a hilarious manner. Later, he also reposted the video clip of the incident on his Instagram stories and wrote ‘Pakdaaa gaya (Got caught)’ as the caption.

Here is the Instagram story from Suryakumar Yadav:
Meanwhile, Team India went on to beat Australia by six wickets to start their World Cup campaign with a win. Batting first, Australia were all out for a modest total of 199 runs. Ravindra Jadeja was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 wickets while Kuldeep Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin picked up 2 and 1 wicket respectively.
In reply, India began their chase in a disastrous manner. Ishan Kishan, Rohit Sharma, and Shreyas Iyer failed to open their accounts, leaving the team reeling at 2 for 3 inside the second over. KL Rahul and Virat Kohli then bailed the team out of trouble by sharing a 165-run stand for the fourth wicket. Kohli was dismissed for 85 while Rahul remained unbeaten on 97.
