Australia opener David Warner grabbed a marvelous milestone in the opening game against India in ICC World Cup 2023. David Warner surpassed Sachin Tendulkar to become the fastest batsman to reach 1000 runs in ODI World Cups.

David Warner scored 41 runs in the IND vs AUS match of the ICC World Cup 2023. Although he could not smash a big knock, he got decent runs off his bat. He scored 6 fours while playing 52 deliveries during his inning.

David Warner Reaches 1000 Runs In ODI World In 19 Innings

Although David Warner could only score 41 runs in IND vs AUS match, it was enough to reach a superb milestone in ODI World Cup tournaments. Warner has become the fastest player to score 1000 runs in ODI World Cups across 19 innings.

He has surpassed former greats like Sachin Tendulkar and AB de Villiers for the record. Tendulkar and De Villiers both took 20 innings to smash 1000 runs in the ODI World Cup.

The 4th player on the list is West Indies legend Viv Richards, who reached the milestone in 21 innings. Former Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly also took 21 innings to reach the 1000-run figures in ODI World Cups.

Australia Opt To Bat First In IND vs AUS Match
