Former Team India head coach Ravi Shastri lauded left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav ahead of India’s first match in the ICC World Cup 2023. Ravi Shastri said that Kuldeep Yadav has made significant improvements in his game following the darkest phase of his career.
Kuldeep Yadav was benched by the Kolkata Knight Riders throughout the entire 2021 Indian Premier League. Furthermore, he lost his spot in India’s white-ball squad. His remarkable bowling performance in the IPL 2022 earned him a comeback for the national team.
Kuldeep Yadav Is Bowling A Little Bit Quicker – Ravi Shastri
In a conversation with Fox Cricket, Ravi Shastri highlighted that Kuldeep Yadav has become stronger, with a more aggressive approach. Shastri mentioned that Kuldeep increased slightly the pace of his bowling.
“He’s worked hard, he’s become stronger. His burst through the crease is a lot more aggressive now. As a result, the pace at which he’s bowling is a little bit quicker too than what he used to. He’s low with his trajectory as well,” Ravi Shastri told Fox Cricket.
“It makes it difficult for guys to chip him down the track, or sweep him or slog sweep him like they used to. Plus, he’s got variety. Let’s never forget, as a wrist spinner, he’s got great variety and control,” he added.
