Former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra opened up about the Yuvraj Singh vs MS Dhoni saga. He also reacted to recent comments made by Yograj Singh on keeper-batter, saying that he wanted his son to be made as India skipper and not Dhoni.

Yuvraj Singh vs MS Dhoni has been one of the major talking points in Indian cricket. Although both the stalwarts of the game played together and contributed immensely to the India National Cricket Team, things surely were not as good between them as they appeared on the screen.

Yuvraj Singh and MS Dhoni both were among the biggest matchwinners for the Indian team. The duo were involved in various partnerships together, and also what they achieved for the Indian team was something that is still fresh in the minds of many.

Under the leadership of MS Dhoni, Yuvraj Singh played a vital role for the team. He was one of the main reasons why the keeper-batter is rated as a successful captain, as the all-rounder helped the team win the T20 World Cup 2007 and the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011.

While Yuvraj never admitted his differences with MS Dhoni, his father, Yograj Singh, has been quite vocal. The senior citizen hasn't left a stone unturned in lashing out at the keeper-batter and often said that the former Indian skipper destroyed the career of his son.

In the most recent comments, Yograj Singh mentioned that he would never forgive MS Dhoni because he destroyed the career of Yuvraj Singh. He mentioned that his son could've gone on to play 4-5 years more for the India National Cricket Team, but the keeper-batter didn't let him.

Aakash Chopra, while reacting to the comments made by Yograj Singh, said that he doesn't know why this is happening. According to him, Yuvraj Singh not being given captaincy over MS Dhoni, along with the southpaw getting fewer opportunities, could well be the reason behind it. Speaking to Raj Shamani on his YouTube show, he explained:

"It's sad. I mean, maybe Yograj Singh Ji thought that Yuvi should be the captain of India. I mean, that's the only thing I can think of. Again, I've never talked to him like this or about this. Why should I? Not my place.

"But, that can be thought of. But, it's also possible that towards the end, Yuvraj Singh didn't more get opportunities. I think that's what he said in that clip I've heard. But, I don't know if Yuvraj has any grudge. See, what matters. What does my father think about that selector who said that he plays well or that your runs were less? That does not matter."

Maybe it would have made a little difference in bank balance - Aakash Chopra on Yuvraj Singh not given captaincy and getting less opportunities in the end

Aakash Chopra further went on to say that things that happened at that time don't matter now. He highlighted that there shouldn't be any grudge because that decision was taken, and it turned out to be good for Indian cricket.

"My father can think of anything. But, on today's date, when I went so far away from there, then after that, I don't hold a grudge against that selector. At that time, he thought that this was the best thing to do. So, he did it. He gave someone a chance. He did well for India. That's it. If I played, I would have done better.

"He did better than me. I mean, fair. It's okay. It doesn't matter When you look back, nothing matters. Honestly, what difference would it make? I mean, maybe it would have made a little difference in bank balance. But, God's been kind. They'll take care of things. So, that's okay," he concluded.
