IND vs BAN: 'Keep Your Boys Ready'- Harbhajan Singh Launches Scathing Attack At Ex-PCB Boss Najam Sethi

Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh has launched a scathing attack on Najam Sethi for his recent remarks about Team India and the BCCI. The former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) took a sly dig at the BCCI as well as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) for their decision to not shift the venue for the Super 4 games of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023.
With rain playing spoilsport, there were reports suggesting that the ACC might shift the venue from rain-hit Colombo to Hambantota. The ACC, however, eventually decided against it and announced that the games would be played in Colombo as originally scheduled. But the decision did not go down well with Najam Sethi who decided to vent his frustration publicly.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Najam Sethi caused quite a stir in the cricketing fraternity with his post. He suggested that the venue was not changed because India were afraid of facing Pakistan. Questioning the B CCI’s motives, Najam Sethi wrote:
“BCCI/ACC informed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) today that they had decided to shift the next India-Pak match from Colombo to Hambantota because of rain forecasts. Within one hour they changed their mind and announced Colombo as the venue. What’s going on? Is India afraid to play and lose to Pakistan? Look at the rain forecast.”

Harbhajan Singh hits back at Najam Sethi:
It did not take Team India long to make Najam Sethi eat his words. The Men in Blue inflicted a humiliating defeat on Pakistan in the Super 4 game. Although rain played spoilsport, the game did take place thanks to the reserve day. India piled up a mammoth total of 356 for 2 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Virat Kohli and KL Rahul scored unbeaten centuries while Shubman Gill and Rohit Sharma scored fifties. In reply, Pakistan were bowled out for just 128 with Kuldeep Yadav picking up 5 wickets. The 228-run win is India’s biggest ODI win over Pakistan in terms of runs. And with India proving Najam Sethi wrong, Harbhajan Singh has also taken a shot at the ex-PCB boss through his YouTube channel.
“I have a message for Najam Sethi. He had said that Team India is afraid of playing against Pakistan, I hope he saw the kind of performance that Team India put up, a record win. I hope he must have got his answer, so keep your boys ready for the next game,” Harbhajan Singh said.
“From Pakistan’s perspective, they got nothing out of this match except for getting tired. Bowling was too weak, even the state of the batting was same, very poor batting performance. No Pakistani batter showed that they had the ability to play against quality seam and swing bowling and score runs,” he added.
Meanwhile, India and Sri Lanka have qualified for the final of the Asia Cup 2023. Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 2 wickets in a thrilling game on Thursday (September 14) to set up the clash with India. The final is scheduled to take place on Sunday (September 17).
