Bangladesh's rising fast bowling sensation, Nahid Rana, is eagerly awaiting the highly anticipated two-match Test series against India to show the world his magic after his stellar performance in the recent Test series in Pakistan.

The 21-year-old speedster delivered a match-winning performance in the second and final Test in Rawalpindi, where he grabbed four wickets for just 44 runs. His efforts played a crucial role in Bangladesh’s historic 2-0 series victory, sending a warning to India not to take him lightly.

We are well prepared for the India series: Nahid Rana

Nahid Rana has quickly become a key figure in Bangladesh’s bowling attack, consistently bowling at speeds over 150 kph. He made headlines for his sheer pace during his debut series against Sri Lanka earlier this year, but his success in Pakistan truly showcased his ability to take early breakthroughs.

One of the most significant moments in the recent Test series was his dismissal of batting superstar Babar Azam. As the Bangladesh cricket team prepares for their upcoming tour of India, Rana remains focused and determined to continue his impressive form with the ball.

Nahid Rana said in a video shared by Bangladesh Cricket on X: “Obviously we are well prepared for India series. We have started training. The more we are prepared the better we will be in execution during the matches. India are a good team but the team that plays better cricket will win. We will see when we go there.”

The young pacer has been part of rigorous training sessions as he looks ahead to the challenging conditions in India. Known for its diverse and bouncy pitches, the Indian subcontinent can be a test for any bowler, but Rana is fully ready to take on the challenge.

Nahid Rana delivers a stunning statement on his pace

The first Test will be held at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai, where the conditions are expected to favor bowlers due to its lively pitch. And Rana’s ability to generate speed and extract bounce could be a game-changer for Bangladesh, especially against a formidable Indian batting lineup featuring legends like Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

Rana’s rhythm and ability to clock high speeds have often caught batters off guard, and if he manages to replicate his recent success in India, he could pose a serious threat to the top order of the hosts in the upcoming Test series, starting on September 19 in Chennai.

He said on his speed: “Pace is something you can't always predict -- it depends a lot on rhythm. Sometimes, it just clicks, and suddenly you find yourself hitting those speeds.”

I don't want to be like anyone else: Nahid Rana

Reflecting on his journey so far, Rana is proud of what he has achieved so far, but he remains humble and focused. His drive to perform for his country is clear, and with each game, the young fast bowler is proving that he belongs on the big stage. He wants to create his own identity in the game.

Rana signed off by saying, “Before leaving, I had said that I wanted to achieve something for my country, and it feels great to have delivered on what was expected of me. I don't want to be like anyone else. I want to create my own identity and be known as Nahid Rana of Bangladesh.”
