KL Rahul has continued to win hearts with his performances on the field since making his much-awaited return to the cricket field. The wicketkeeper-batsman was sidelined with a thigh injury that he had sustained in May while fielding during a game in IPL 2023.

He finally played his first match for Team India after recovering from injury when he was picked in the playing eleven for the crucial Super 4 game against Pakistan. The right-handed batsman celebrated his comeback by scoring a stunning unbeaten century and sharing a mammoth 233-run stand with Virat Kohli as India thrashed Pakistan by 228 runs.

And on Tuesday (September 12), he impressed once again with the bat. KL Rahul came out to bat when India were reeling at 91 for 3 on a tough Colombo pitch. He then added a crucial 63-run stand with Ishan Kishan before departing for 39. He was the second-highest run-scorer for India in the game.

KL Rahul’s knock and the partnership with Kishan proved decisive as India registered a hard-fought 41-run win after being bowled out for just 213. His performance behind the stumps was impressive too. KL Rahul was seen giving crucial tips to the bowlers constantly in addition to playing a key role in deciding whether to review any decision or not.

And as if the performances were not enough, KL Rahul has also won hearts with his brilliant gesture for Kuldeep Yadav. The India star’s comment about his teammate is receiving praise from all over. After the game, commentator Sanjay Manjrekar asked KL Rahul about his role in the dismissal of Sadeera Samarawickrama.

Just a ball before stumping the Sri Lanka batter, KL Rahul was seen giving some tips to Kuldeep Yadav and it instantly paid off. He, however, decided against taking any credit for the dismissal, saying:

“I am not gonna take any credit for the wicket that he’s taken. He still has to execute the skill.  When you are behind the stumps, you have a good idea as to what the batter is doing and I just passed on the message, luckily it worked for Kuldeep.”
