Former Indian cricketer Kiran More spoke about Rinku Singh in the pre-match build-up to the second T20I between India and Ireland on Sunday. India are batting first in Dublin in the second T20I after losing the toss.

The Men in Blue have decided to go with an unchanged side in the second T20I. This means that Rinku, who made his debut in the first T20I will also play the second T20I.

Kiran More while talking to Jio Cinema prior to the second T20I, said that Rinku should be given a run of 10 games by the management.

“Give Rinku Singh a run of 10 matches in Indian team,” More said on Jio Cinema ahead of the 2nd T20I game.

“Rinku Singh can be a long term batter at No. 6 for India,” he further added.

Rinku’s memorable season with KKR in IPL 2023, paved the path for his India call-up. He was not included in the recently concluded T20I series against West Indies which surprised many. Many former Indian cricketers believed that Rinku should have been included in the West Indies series as well.

The southpaw was KKR’s top-scorer in IPL 2023, scoring 474 runs in 16 matches at an average of 59.25 with four fifty-plus scores. He also created a record of hitting five back-to-back sixes in the IPL to seal the win, which was a never-seen-before feat in the IPL.
