Team India's very own Mr. 360 Suryakumar Yadav successfully put off 15 kg from his body during his preparation for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Suryakumar Yadav is among the senior Indian players who will have the onus of helping the Indian team end their drought of winning an ICC trophy. Since 2013, team India has reached 5 different finals of the World Cup but they have remained unsuccessful in all of them.

Last year itself, the Indians had the chance of winning two ICC Silverwares - the World Test Championship and the 50-over World Cup. Rohit Sharma's men first lost the WTC final at the Oval in June and then lost the CWC 2023 final in November, both times against Australia.

While Suryakumar Yadav didn't feature in the WTC final, he was a part of the playing XI which lost to Pat Cummins' side on November 19 at Ahmedabad.

Suryakumar Yadav's nutritionist observes the batter looks much leaner

Suryakumar Yadav, who had a knee injury as well as a Sports Hernia before IPL 2024, had struggled quite a lot with his fitness. He had even missed all cricketing actions from December to March to recover from the setbacks before joining the Mumbai Indians for the league stages.

While MI failed to make it to the playoffs, Suryakumar Yadav was working extremely hard on his fitness, behind the scenes. His training regime and his diet plan, everything were kept strict so that he could reach the desired goal set by the NCA and his nutritionist Shwetha Bhatia.

The current condition of Suryakumar Yadav's body is much different than what we had seen before the IPL 2024. Shwetha Bhatia has observed that the batter looks much leaner, stronger as well as a little muscular. Surya was able to achieve all of that through a systematic supplementation diet plan and coordination between recovery rate and muscle gain rate.

"If you look at him, he is looking much leaner and stronger and little muscular, and diet was planned with supplementation to achieve that goal. Co-ordination between recovery rate and muscle gain rate, so we adjusted to achieve that in record time." - Shwetha Bhatia told PTI.

Bhatia claims 13 out of the 15Kgs Surya lost was Fat

During his recovery period, Suryakumar Yadav was barely doing any gym training or physical activity, to say the least. Due to the medication he went through after the surgery, Surya had increased his weight. It happened due to the reaction from the medicines he took and not because he was off-diet.

"After he got well, Suryakumar Yadav remarkably lost 15Kgs from his body with Shwetha Bhatia claiming that 13Kgs was fat."

"Overall by now, 14-15 kg, there was a slight increase in his weight after surgery, which is a natural medical reaction not because he was off diet. Out of 15 kg that he shed, Dexa machine will confirm that 13 kg will be fat." - Bhatia concluded.

Surya scores 31 on his India return

Upon his return to the Indian team for the first time since December 2023, Suryakumar Yadav scored 31 runs off 18 at a strike rate of 172.22. His efforts helped India post 183 as the target which Bangladesh failed to chase down and lost the match by 60 runs.
